Historical Football Kits

The Football League 1992-1993

At the end of the 1991-1992 season, the First Division clubs withdrew from the Football League to form the Premier League under the control of the FA. The move paved the way for the top clubs to negotiate their own TV deal with Sky TV, which would transform the economics of the game. The three Football League Divisions were renamed as Divisions One, Two and Three. The fashion was for busy kits with complicated detailing and patterns that were woven into the fabric.
