Historical Football Kits

The Football League 1958-1959

At the end of the 1957-58 season the regional Third Divisions were scrapped. The top 12 clubs from each went into the new national Third Division while the rest went into the Fourth Division. Four clubs were now promoted and relegated between the Fourth and Third Divisions while two clubs were promoted each season from the Third Division. The old baggy kits were now being replaced with modern, lightweight versions with V neck shirts with short sleeves.
